General Job Description:

The Engineering Project Coordinator supports the Project Manager in gathering resources and information to implement upcoming projects. Their main duties include maintaining budgets and work schedules, organizing and participating in shareholder meetings and ensuring all deadlines for certain projects are met. Assists engineering in managing the Engineering Change Request/Engineering Change (ECO/ECR) Order system, creating and maintaining the Item Master records and Routings in the MRP system, and assisting the engineering team with documentation and record maintenance within the QSI system.

Reports to: Senior Project Manager

Core Responsibilities

  • Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary
  • Evaluate potential problems and technical hitches and develop solutions
  • Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored
  • Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures
  • Administers the ECO/ECR system, monitors the process, identifies impediments, and works with the team to eliminate issues.
  • Maintains and publishes metrics associated with the ECO/ECR system.
  • Works with design and process engineering to load and maintain item masters and routing records in the KBM system.
  • Assists engineers with project documentation storage, network hard drives, and QSI system.
  • Maintains engineering attendance records.
  • Assists in the preparation of internal and external onsite meetings
  • Assist Quality in researching and documenting compliance requirements

Set-up and Operation/Milling and Turning

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to operate multi-axis CNC equipment, read blueprints, use basic machining gages, and understand standard machining terminology and principles.
  • Must be able to set up machines and work with a defined process to produce quality products.
  • Must be able to demonstrate good judgement in decision making and problem solving.
  • Special consideration will be given to applicants for: extensive knowledge of cutting tool technology, speed and feed selection, process control techniques, GD&T and leadership experience.

The Manufacturing Engineer position requires a BSME, BSEE or related BS with at least three years of experience in manufacturing engineering supporting, developing, and launching assembly and test processes.

General Job Description:

This in-person role is responsible for the design and development of machining processes, tooling and work holding to produce fully finished precision parts for complex fluid control devices used in medical, industrial, material handling and a wide variety of other applications. We are a high-mix environment whose machining processes include multi-axis turning and milling work centers as well as drill/tap machines. This role requires a team-oriented individual with a broad range of technical skills and high attention to detail. This individual will work closely with product development engineers, quality professionals and operators to ensure that products are designed for efficient manufacture.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Design of tools and work holding using Solid Edge 3D CAD modeling tools or equivalent.
  • Set up, program and troubleshoot production CNC milling and turning equipment.
  • G & M code programing experience, familiarity with Esprit CAM software or equivalent is a plus.
  • Utilize precision gaging/inspection equipment with an understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Read and understand hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic schematic diagrams and engineering drawings.
  • Provide production cost estimates for new product development programs.
  • Selection and purchase/requisition of cutting tools and production equipment.
  • Create production routers for multiple step machining and finishing operations.
  • Validation of production processes and equipment in accordance with ISO 9001 and customer specifications.
  • Process control plans developed for KPC’s etc. with SPC as appropriate.
  • Lead troubleshooting, as required, in the event of process failures and assist in mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication with operators, technical and supervisory personnel including outside contractors.
  • Demonstrated good decision making and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to guide and train maintenance and shop personnel.
  • Computer skills to generate operator and maintenance instructions and graphics to support production processes.
  • Complete detailed written reports of work completed.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering or equivalent education and experience.

  • Full time salaried position.
  • First shift days (8am – 4:30pm)

We currently have a Team Captain opportunity in our Machining Department’s Part Finishing area.  This is a 1st shift opportunity with a standard schedule of four 10-hour days (M-Th/6:00 am to 4:00 pm).

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have experience with part polishing, buffing and rotary burr removal equipment for both aesthetic and functional improvement of precision machined metal parts.

  • Candidates should have leadership experience in a team-based environment and be results oriented.
  • The Team Captain is a working-leader role that reports to the Machining Department Supervisor.  This individual will be expected to participate in job scheduling, employee training, problem solving and troubleshooting activities and will lead the area’s daily team meeting and escalate any resultant challenges.

Humphrey Products Company, a Kalamazoo-based manufacturer of pneumatic valves and control components used in industries such as medical, instrumentation, distribution, agriculture and transportation, has an opportunity for a Sales Representative resident in Southwest Michigan.

The Sales Representative is responsible for identifying new sales opportunities with Humphrey Distribution partners. They ensure that the customers’ expectations are met during the sales process and documents sale activities via the Humphrey Products CRM system, Contact Manager. They are the primary interface/liaison between the customer and the greater organization. The Sales Representative will report to the Humphrey Distribution Sales Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new customers, applications, and markets.
  • Provide support to existing customers and distributors within the region.
  • Evaluate existing distributors based on performance, the introduction of new potential opportunities, provide Humphrey Products support in prospective sales data gathering. Search for new distributors in underperforming territories.
    • Provide pre-sales application engineering services to accounts within the territory and coordinate additional services to be provided by the engineering team.
    • Execute sales and marketing strategies.
    • Perform demonstrations of product capabilities and features.
  • Perform fieldwork with distributors to present new products and potential ES remedies to customers. Provide direct contact with prospective customers for opportunities best handled on a direct basis.
  • Provide feedback and input to internal product management and development team.
  • Provide weekly activity reports to company management via the Contact Manager.
  • Create/Maintain New Business Opportunities via the contact manager.
  • Provide monthly forecast information via the Sales Representative Performance Reports.

Travel:

  • Up to 70% within region.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years technical sales experience including 2+ years application / customer facing engineering experience with pneumatic or hydraulic electromechanical components and/or systems.
  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree or higher in related engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical or Controls) but will consider experience in fluid power/pneumatics fields. Additional Business/Entrepreneurship focus, or degree preferred.
  • Strong people skills, enjoys and excels at building and maintaining relationships.
  • Strong computer-based communication tools acumen.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills. Able to prepare and deliver technical presentations.
  • Enjoys working closely with small teams (work with engineers, project planners, production planners, to ensure we are not wasting time to bring products to fruition and deliver to customers).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently residing in Southwest Michigan.
  • *4 year electrical/mechanical engineering degree.
